Priority Mail © Tracking: Open and Distribute for EDDM

Jim Boardman posted this on Sep 27, 2016

While individual EDDM mailpieces aren't tracked by the IMb barcode, they can be tracked up to the point of receipt by the delivering post office.  This is done by tracking the Priority Mail© label number.

If you have recently submitted an EDDM mailing, you may have received a Priority Mail© tracking number. To determine when your EDDM mail is delivered to the delivery post office or “Opening Unit”, click on the link in your account or go to https://www.usps.com/ to track your mailing using the Priority Mail© tracking label number.

The example below shows that the mail was received at the post office.  The EDDM mailers should be delivered the next delivery day. However, keep in mind that the post office does have up to 72 hours upon receipt to deliver EDDM mail.
