Live stamps add a visual spark to your mailpiece.
This first-of-its-kind Total Eclipse of the Sun, Forever stamp will make it shine even brighter.

You asked for a Live Stamp option and we listened. For a slight additional charge* we can now add a real Forever U.S. Flag postage stamp to selected mailpieces in place of the normal pre-printed postage indicia.

And today, Click2Mail announced an option to affix this just-released “Total Eclipse of the Sun, Forever® stamp” to a limited number of mailpieces (10,000) on a first come, first served basis.

Designed to commemorate the upcoming August 21, 2017 total eclipse of the Sun, the Total Eclipse of the Sun, Forever® stamp will draw particular attention because it is the first U.S. stamp to use thermochromic ink, which reacts to the heat of your touch. “Placing your finger over the black disc on the stamp," the USPS explains, "causes the ink to change from black to clear to reveal an underlying image of the moon. The image reverts back to the black disc once it cools.”

The image used in the design of the stamp is a stunning High Dynamic Range composite of a solar corona made by astrophysicist Fred Espenak from 22 separate exposures.

This is the August 21 eclipse path and times it may appear in some locations.

To order a live stamp, choose "Start Here" and look for the Live Specialty stamp option on the menu.

* Live Stamps incur the full postage rate (usual discounts do not apply) plus $.07 per piece for applying the stamps.
